Chat on your phone without an app
Most people in India go online on a phone, often a budget Android with limited storage. Cafe Chat runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install. It loads quickly even on slower connections and uses very little data, because chat is just text.
On iPhone, use Safari; on Android, Chrome works best.
Use full-screen mode
Tap Open full-screen chat below the chat window. The chat fills your entire screen, with the keyboard and message box sized for thumbs. Add it to your home screen from your browser menu and it opens like an app icon.
Tip: in landscape mode you get a wider view of the user list.
Pick up where you left off
Moving between Wi-Fi and mobile data may disconnect you briefly. Just reconnect with the same nickname. If you registered your nickname, you will keep it. Popular rooms to try on mobile: Timepass Chat and Random Chat.
How to join Mobile Chat
Pick a nickname
Type any name in the chat window. No email, phone number or password.
Say hello
You land in the room straight away. Say hi and mention where you are from.
Go private or go full screen
Tap a name to chat one-to-one, or open the full-screen chat for an app-like view.
Use the chat window at the top of this page. On a phone, open the full-screen chat for the most room to type.
Mobile Chat is part of Cafe Chat. Every room runs on the same ChatLife IRC network, so you can hop between them with /join or browse the full list of chat rooms.
